Positioned only a few feet aft and below the Leads afterburners is an awesome site from this vantage point but tends to divert attention from your wingmen’s wing tips. The artist wanted to capture the thrill and feeling of flying the slot while having your tail blackened from the afterburner. Many of you may recognize the background, this is Thunderbird Lake, north of Las Vegas. The Original Painting was donated to the US Air Force Art collection.
