The fast all wood Mosquito was the most versatile operational aircraft of World War II. It was tasked as a fighter, bomber, photo-reconnaissance aircraft, night fighter, and torpedo bomber to mention just a few of its duties. 7,781 Mosquitos were built by the British and gained the reputation as one of the world's greatest aircraft.
The Mosquito shown is the night fighter en route to Germany at sundown to interfere with German night fighter defense against Britain's night bombers. *
